New Jersey Chains Join Forces to Find Franchisees
Nathan's Famous, Saladworks, Carvel and Philly Soft Pretzel Share Seminar Costs to Pitch Franchise
Four New Jersey franchise systems want more New Jersey franchisees, so they are teaming up to share the costs of seminars designed to share their franchise message. Nathan's Famous, Saladworks, Carvel and Philly Soft Pretzel Factory all together hope to open 240 new units in North Jersey within the next five years.
Randy Watts, vice president of franchise operations for hot dog icon Nathan's Famous sees his marketing costs for finding franchisees plummet from $35,000 to about $5,000. "We're basically leveraging our dollars against media ad purchases ... to get people into the room," he said.
Bob Purvin, chairman of the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers, observes, "The guy who wants to do Nathan's might not be as into doing salads as someone else, but they're both interested in quick service concepts." via NorthJersey.com
