New Zealand Green Acres Victims Hope for Closure

One of Blue MauMau’s “Daily Picks’ that raises amusing and not so amusing points.
The crazy part of this scam is that if the ironing franchises had existed and had been a nonsense scam producing an even worse financial result for these victims; then there would not have been criminal charges.
In that situation in Australia the scam franchisor would have been protected by the ACCC; charges are never laid even though the outcome is often ruination of thousands of Australian families. It is the same around the world; government inaction protects scams in franchising. What the hell are they all thinking? But this story from New Zealand is the extreme of stupid franchising where the ‘franchisor’ didn’t even bother to outlay $300 on an ironing press and provide a little ‘Local Marketing Kit’ to avoid goal.
And it is also the extreme of gullible franchisee behaviour. All they had to do was look in any local newspaper and see how many successfully operate these little cash businesses with almost no outlay.
