NJ and NY Ranked Worst Business Tax Climates in Nation

The Tax Foundation released its annual report today, 2010 State Business Tax Climate Index. New Jersey was ranked number one for least friendly tax environment, with New York coming in at number two. Massachusetts, frequently called Taxachusetts, does not even figure in the top ten.

The most friendly tax environments are in South Dakota and Wyoming, according to the report.

The index is presented as “a tool for lawmakers, businesses and individuals alike to gauge how their states’ tax systems compare.”
