Official Response from Funding Solutions, LLC Regarding Cuppy's

Funding Solutions has proudly been involved as a loan consultant to the franchise industry for the last 8 years. We are a member of the IFA. Funding Solutions is an independent, privately owned family business.  We are neither a subsidiary nor division of any franchise system.  Likewise, we are not partially or wholly owned by any franchisor, including Cuppy’s Coffee and More. 

We are proud of the consulting services we provide for franchisees to obtain loans required to enter the businesses of their dreams.  The typical applicant uses the services of Funding Solutions either because they do not have the time or expertise to complete the financial documentation required of borrowers by lending institutions. As with our peers in the industry, it is normal business practice to established business relationships with franchisors and financial institutions around the country. 

Cuppy’s, like other franchisors, recommends Funding Solutions to individuals who desire to become business owners. These recommendations come because of our professional reputation of successfully and honestly assisting applicants obtain loans. We rely upon the financial institutions to properly screen, process and make the credit decision for each loan application we assist our clients in submitting.  Funding Solutions does not receive or handle in any way the loan proceeds.  Rather, the lending institution works directly with our client, the franchisee, regarding distribution of the loan proceeds. 

If we find that a franchise system is not operating within a standard that will not serve the franchisee’s best interest, we will withdraw offering our consulting services to prospective franchisees for that franchise system.  Recently, we informed Cuppy’s Coffee and More that we would no longer work to assist prospective franchisees in securing funding for a Cuppy’s Coffee and More franchise.  We will cooperate with any entity in providing information, properly requested, regarding our involvement in assisting Cuppy’s Coffee and More franchisees with obtaining a business loan.  We will continue to assist our client’s in securing funding with other franchise systems.   

It should be noted, our agreement for services is directly with the prospective franchisee. Any fee paid by franchisees for our services, is paid only if we are successful in obtaining an approved loan acceptable to the applicant.  The fee is paid by the franchisee (not the franchisor) and is typically paid at or after the applicant has received a commitment and funding from a lending institution.
