On Tuesday, November 4, 2014, the power of the United States will temporarily be in your hands. That's the day we will elect—and thereby give decision-making authority about our lives—to:
435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives
33 members of the U.S. Senate
36 state governors
3 governors of U.S. territories
46 state legislatures (in all states except Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Virginia)
We will also elect thousands of officials at the state, county, and local level -- plus we will make decisions about hundreds of issues that are on ballots across the country.
Quite simply, we will be casting votes for the people and the policies that will guide our lives during the immediate future.
