Quiznos Bread Supplier Goes Under

Gerards, a frozen bread supplier to such chains as Quiznos and IHOP, has shut down nationwide operations, closing its head office in Colorado as well as California and North Carolina operations. Gerards had baked and supplied bread to Quiznos franchise owners throughout the country and Canada based on a Quiznos recipe. A Colorado paper reports:

"A call to Quiznos corporate offices in Denver on Friday resulted in an e-mail response that said the company would do everything it could 'to assist affected franchise owners in making a seamless transition in their operations.' "

Quiznos and IHOP chains have other bread suppliers. Gerards leaves some 100 employees without jobs.
