Wow! The inner tech geek in me is just fascinated at this presentation on using robots to interact with humans.

Cynthia Breazeal and her team at MIT are building robots with social intelligence that communicate and learn the same way people do.

Breazeal should add a retail robot to her list. These are bots with social intelligence that can be used at the check out counter. Frankly, it just might be an improvement from the service I’m getting now. And judging from Ms. Breazeal's work, robots would have better social connectivity than the self-serve automated dumb stations that chains are experimenting with now.

So is the future of retailing and POS in robots?
