Shane's Rib Shack Wants Its Managers To Be Owners

Times are tough so Shane's Rib Shack has decided to change its franchise ownership model to encourage general managers to own its stores. It’s unnecessary to have access to boat loads of money.

The Owner/Operator Model eliminates the financial barriers of established net worth, liquidity, and the ability to secure financing to cover store development costs. With this model, general managers who have extensive experience managing restaurants have an opportunity to become owners. All owner/operators will receive a competitive base salary and benefits, plus a share of the profits.

"I will be the first to tell you franchising is not for everyone, particularly in a tight economic market," says Shane Thompson, founder and president of Shane's Rib Shack. "However, there are a great many qualified candidates in the market today who with no financial barriers, could make great restaurant owners. This new model makes it possible for them to own and operate their own business with only a $10,000 investment. This may be the best opportunity in the fast casual market today." – QSR Magazine

The franchising firm would like to ask that each candidate should have at least two years of restaurant experience in a managerial role and be capable of contributing an investment of up to $10,000 to start their own Shack.
