Subway Worker Sentenced for Lettuce Stunt
Young Briton Richard Shannon, a Subway sandwich worker, shot an online video where he stuffed lettuce in his mouth and then spit it into a bin for customer consumption (see video). A store patron saw the video and was so incensed that she traveled to the store and hurled a chair at the worker. (Who says Brits are reserved?)
That brought the constables, who hauled not the chair hurling woman, but rather the disgusting sandwich stuffer in.
Shannon claimed he had thrown the lettuce in question away immediately after the prank. Walsall magistrates warned him last week he could face time in jail after hearing him plead guilty to contaminating or interfering with goods with intent to cause economic loss and alarm, anxiety or injury to the public.- Express & Star
Meanwhile, what about the other voice from a worker in the video. How come he wasn't fired? Anyhow, besides being fired by the Subway owner, the local magistrate sentenced Shannon to 300 hours of community service. Hopefully, the time served will not be in a soup kitchen ;)
