Survey: Americans Flying Less Because of Airport Security

An article in Hotel Interactive shows that hoteliers are aware that the new intrusive airport security procedures are not good for business. A newly released U.S. Travel Association survey shows that 75 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with airport security and many won't fly because of it, meaning that if they don't take an alternative mode of transportation, they won't need a hotel, nor will they need to get their three daily meals away from home.

Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, says,

People are saying [air travel] is just not worth it. They don’t want to deal with the hassle and they won’t go to meetings, etc. We are hearing it and this is an across-the-board problem. There has to be a better way. We know there is a better way, —Hotel Interactive

The association is preparing recommendations to submit to Congress and the Executive Branch around the end of next month to cut airport security "hassles," a word that to many people doesn't even begin to describe the outrages.
