U.S. Franchise Opportunities Now Available

One Man’s Junk is Another Man’s Treasure

Successful Waste Removal Company Offers Franchise

Opportunities in Florida

Tampa Bay, FL (April 3) – Opening your own business can be a scary prospect. Just

ask Mike Thorne, President of JUST JUNK headquartered in Ontario, Canada.

In 2003, Mike was working with one of Canada’s largest corporations in Toronto,

Ontario, Canada. Sitting at his desk in a sea of cubicles, he was asked to remove old

office equipment from the 7th floor of his building. After searching unsuccessfully for a

junk removal company, it hit him – he realized everything in this world would one day

need to be removed and disposed of.

“It was an epiphany,” said Thorne. “Within a couple of weeks, I had left my well-paying

position and life in Toronto and moved back to my hometown in St. Catharines, Ontario,

Canada. I bought a $500.00 cargo van, named my one-man-in-a-van operation JUST

JUNK and I opened for business.”

After placing a primitive ad in the classifieds, Mike’s suspected hunch was correct;

everybody owned junk. He spent his days picking up anything from everywhere, and his

nights were spent building a business model and interviewing employees.

Since that time, JUST JUNK has grown by leaps and bounds. The company now has

advanced truck technology, a centralized call center, 12 employees, and spends much

of its time interviewing prospective franchisees. Along the way they’ve been recognized

with numerous entrepreneurial awards, including Top New Business, Entrepreneur of

the Year and Top 40 under 40 for the founder, Thorne.

In 2007, (after turning down multiple franchise prospects) JUST JUNK Franchising

Corporation began selling rights to markets in Ontario, Canada, including: Hamilton,

Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga. Due to the overwhelming interest received from

stateside prospects, the company is now getting set to expand into the United States

with initial area franchise opportunities within the state of Florida.

Rick Dixon, Director of U.S Franchise Development, Just Junk Inc. has already begun

searching for U.S entrepreneurs who want to become a leading service provider and

support Just Junk’s environmentally-conscious approach to junk removal.

Since its inception, communities across Canada have embraced Just Junk’s

environmentally-friendly approach. Over 60 per cent of the material Just Junk removes

from homes and businesses is either recycled or donated to local charities, helping

protect and conserve community’s watersheds and green space. Just Junk has

partnered with many notable organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill and

the Salvation Army, providing reusable building supplies, household products, toys,

furniture and clothing.

Florida’s Just Junk franchise owners will help the environment while capitalizing on the

booming need for professional junk removal services,” said Dixon. Another major factor

for the company’s success is the emergence of the do-it-yourself renovation industry.

Many homeowners undertake projects that result in large amounts of junk and clutter

that can be a burden.

“Renting a disposal bin or personally taking junk to a landfill is often not a simple,

practical or cost-effective solution. We help our customers remove their clutter, create

space and get organized in an environmentally friendly way,” he added.
