About Me

As the founder of Blue MauMau, Don launched the Blue MauMau franchise community after so many franchise buyers and owners spoke with him about wanting honest dialog with top experts and independent franchise news. There was a need for authenticity of news and a desire to interact with a wide source of informed people, something that the Internet as a publishing venue does especially well. Hence, the birth of Blue MauMau, the web's premier franchise community and source of independent franchise news.

Hobbies:  Don grew up in Hawaii and Florida, where his parents owned, closed down, then owned again a family scuba shop. So it is no surprise that he is a scuba instructor with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. He enjoys photography, the challenge of speaking Asian languages, listening to great jazz, good food and taking photos.

Here's my professional background in five words:
Publishing, print, consumer goods, franchising. 

Once upon a time Don did the big business thing, burying his inward entrepreneur for the privilege and honor of being a small cog in the bigger wheel. He had a career in running global operations for such multinationals as trade publisher Global Sources Media as well as for consultant and time manager Franklin Covey. He was responsible for training corporate officers and executives on running large business units at the Fluor Corporation, a giant civil engineering firm, and Nike.

Don has been a franchise executive for a number of years, having led global field operations and franchise development for an international quick print chain. He occasionally consults franchise systems on strategy and maximizing performance.

Through the Snexus Company, Don's focus is on gathering leadership and funding to launch innovative start-up businesses with brand appeal.

Schooling? Yep. Did that. Besides having a jumble of alphabets in his last name, Mr. Sniegowski has a few more associated with his schooling. He has a B.S. and B.A. in Finance (ranked 8th in the country) and Chinese at BYU; studied at UCLA, and obtained an MBA on the other side of town at USC's elite IBEAR program at the Marshall School of Business.
