Les Stewart is an independent franchise industry analyst. He has come to understand that franchising is as revolutionary to small business as the printing press was to education. Stewart continues to probe this modern-day electronic tool or medium and share the many ways we change it and the way it changes us.

Les Stewart is an independent franchise industry researcher, founded the Canadian Alliance of Franchise Operators and was editor of the FranchiseFool weblog. He was an expert witness in the public hearings that lead up to Ontario's first franchise law, Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000.
Stewart's interests focus on investor decision making, reputation mechanisms and human factors (emotions). His work on non-legislative dispute resolution processes continues to garner attention in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
He graduated from the University of Western Ontario (BA, political science, 1983) and the Richard Ivey School of Business (MBA, 1987) in London, Canada.
