Veterans: Franchisors Want You

U.S. military website

With hundreds of thousands of veterans transitioning from military service to civilian life, franchisors are welcoming them with open arms to become all they can be as franchise owners.

These companies recognize that veterans have the right combination of leadership skills, dedication and ability to work within a strict system of franchise.

MSNBC.com today listed the Top 10 Franchises for Veterans, put out by Entrepreneur.com. Among them are Jan-Pro, Jani-King, Matco Tools and Anytime Fitness. The article states,

The International Franchise Association (IFA) estimates that one out of every seven franchises in the U.S.--more than 66,000 businesses in total--is owned and operated by a veteran.

While many veterans would love to own their own business, having the money to invest is their biggest obstacle. But franchisors are there to help.

Since the post-9/11 relaunch of the Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (VetFran), more than 400 franchisors have offered incentives to veterans in the form of discounted startup costs.

Many companies also offer additional assistance, financing help, and special training.
