LAS VEGAS—In a competition held each year from the ranks of its stores, Domino's announced yesterday that it has crowned franchisee Dennis Tran as 2016's World's Fastest Pizza Maker. The crowning came at Domino's annual conference, the Domino's Worldwide Rally in Las Vegas, where nearly 8,000 franchisees and staff attended.

"We wanted to win. We executed. We left Las Vegas a four-time world champion," said winner Tran.

The Domino's franchise owner made three large pizzas in 34 seconds, making each pizza in 11 seconds! For his efforts, Tran won $3,000 in prize money, a trophy and the title of World's Fastest Pizza Maker, which was presented by Domino's president and CEO Patrick Doyle.

"We are thrilled to crown Tran as Domino's 2016 World's Fastest Pizza Maker," said Doyle. "Domino's and its franchisees employ some of the greatest pizza makers in the world," said the CEO. "The World's Fastest Pizza Maker competition recognizes the champions that take pizza-making to an entirely different level."

Tran started working in a Domino's branded store in 1990, where he handed out fliers door-to-door, and then worked his way to shift runner. After high school, Tran decided he wanted to pursue a full-time career with the Domino's brand. He became a store manager at the age of 19 and six years later, he became a regional director. Tran became an owner-operator in November 2008. He currently owns five Domino's franchises in Tallahassee, Florida
