Western Automotive Ventures Buys 44 NTB Centers, Rebrands as Big O Tires

Big O TiresWith 12 automotive service centers in Nevada, Western Automotive Ventures has expanded in a big way. The Big O Tires franchisee has purchased 44 of NTB Tire & Service Center's company-owned stores. With no franchises in its chain, NTB Tire & Service Centers is a sister brand of franchising firm Big O Tires.

"We are super excited about our expansion with Big O Tires,” said Mark Rhee, president of Western Automotive Ventures, about changing the NTB Tire stores to the Big O Tires brand under Western Automotive’s ownership. The company will now own a total of 56 locations.

The franchisee’s newly purchased centers expand its franchisor’s reach as well. Franchisor Big O Tires has over 400 locations that are franchise licensed. It also has two stores that are company owned. The franchisor’s parent company, Florida-based TBC Corporation, has a portfolio of 10 automobile service center chains, such as Tire Kingdom, Midas and NTB Tire & Service Centers. Sears sold the NTB chain to TBC in 2003.

“After careful consideration, we believe that this agreement is an exciting way for TBC to leverage an asset that will provide significant growth to Big O Tires; and will prove to be beneficial to our associates, consumers, franchises and corporation as a whole for years to come,” stated Erik R. Olsen, president & CEO of TBC Corporation.
