Carlson Rezidor Rebrands as Radisson Hotel Group

A new hospitality firm has been rebranded. On Monday, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced it has rebranded as Radisson Hotel Group. 

Carlson Rezidor sees a branding advantage in dumping the Carlson name and taking on the Radisson hotel name. That divesting itself of Carlson is particularly helpful after the Minneapolis-based Carlson Companies left the lodging business back in 2016 when it was sold to HNA Tourism Group of China.

"Today is the start of an exciting era for the Radisson Hotel Group, united by our new brand and long-term vision to become a top three hospitality company in the world," said Federico J. González, president and CEO, the Rezidor Hotel Group and chairman of the Global Steering Committee, Radisson Hotel Group. “Our rebranding is just the beginning,” he added.

Gone is Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, who has international master franchise agreements with Radisson Hospitality, and born is Radisson Hotel Group. With eight hotel brands — Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn, Country Inn & Suites and prizeotel — it has more than 1,400 hotels around the world that are flying one of its brand flags. It is the eleventh largest hotel group in the world.
