WASHINGTON – McDonald’s Corp is angry over an ad that insinuates eating at McDonald's causes death. The controversial ad by Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a group advocating a vegan diet, is set to air in the Washington, D.C. area on Thursday, September 16 during the popular news satire, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a vegan advocacy group, is releasing a television commercial blaming McDonald’s for heart disease. This commercial is currently airing in the Washington D.C. area and may air in other major cities soon. Below is McDonald’s statement in response to that ad.

The ad shows a corpse still clutching a Big Mac in his hand. It ends with a screen that says, “I was lovin’ it,” taking a swipe at McDonald’s tagline, “I’m lovin’ it.”

A video of the PCRM advertisement has already been uploaded on the social media website YouTube.

McDonald's Corp, the world's largest food chain, today responded, “This commercial is outrageous, misleading and unfair to all consumers. McDonald’s trusts our customers to put such outlandish propaganda in perspective, and to make food and lifestyle choices that are right for them.”

McDonald's offers salads, apple slices and other non-meat food items to its customers.
