Human Element Hits Bottom Line

"Our reliance on technology has the potential to destroy businesses if it isn't held in check." -  San Francisco State University psychology professor David Matsumoto speaking in Australia.

"People learn the basic rules of interaction in families, by growing up with siblings and fighting among themselves, but kids are losing that now because of smaller families and computers and technology."

I've published this article to hopefully prompt comment on how communication in business today varies from previous generations of operators.  Do we need to reconsider what we train?  Has a generation lost basic human skills? How can these issues mentioned hit a business's bottom line?

"What's emerging now is the need to train people in human skills. People matter again. It's coming back to people needs' - Mr Longford - Head of the Violent Crime Unit and trained as an FBI profiler.
