DineEquity and Denny’s Report Yummy Third Quarter


SPARTANBURG, S.C. and GLENDALE, Calif. –Denny's Corporation (NASDAQ:DENN) and competitor IHOP this week announced a virtual tie for the third quarter of 2014 in the race for higher same-restaurant sales, outperforming other major brands in the family dining sector. Both Denny's and IHOP's systemwide same-restaurant sales in the United States grew by 2.4 percent.

Same-restaurant sales in the United States grew 3.9 percent over 1Q 2013 at IHOP while dropping 0.5% at Applebee's.

Free Pancakes Today at IHOP

The International House of Pancakes and its affiliated franchisees are giving out a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes today, Tuesday, February 5, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in its 1,500 participating franchised restaurants. It hopes to raise $3 million for charity.
