Aloha Petroleum Named Dunkin's Developer of the Year
Aloha Petroleum Ltd., the master Dunkin' franchisee for Hawaii, was named by Dunkin' Brands Group Inc. as the 2017 Dunkin' Developer of the year at the Dunkin' Brands Global Convention in Las Vegas.
The previous Hawaii franchisee closed all locations over a decade ago. Aloha opened the first Dunkin' location since then near the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (formerly Honolulu International Airport) in July 2017. Aloha Petroleum, which has been doing business in Hawaii since the early 1900s, was acquired by what is now Sunoco LP in 2014.
The annual honor is given to a franchisee that excels in all areas of building the brand and opening Dunkin' restaurants, the company said.
"Aloha Petroleum brought Dunkin' back to Hawaii for the first time in many years with aggressive expansion plans," said Grant Benson, senior vice president of franchising and business development, Dunkin' Brands. "The group opened 10 points of distribution in 2017, including two traditional locations with drive-thrus, one non-traditional location and seven self-serve locations. With a third traditional location that opened this year, Aloha Petroleum developed 11 outlets in only eight months."
Honolulu-based Aloha Petroleum operates approximately 100 Shell, Aloha, and Mahalo branded gas stations, 50 Aloha Island Marts and four Menehune Food Marts. —Convenience Store News
