Dwyer Acquires Mosquito Joe

Texas-based Dwyer Franchising, LLC, a multi-branded franchisor of nearly 3,300 home service franchises, announced on August 14 that it acquired Mosquito Joe, a franchisor of over 285 insect control franchises.

“We are delighted to join one of the most powerful organizations in the industry,” said Lou Schager, president of Virginia-based Mosquito Joe. “Our franchise network and customers will benefit from Dwyer Group’s vast expertise and extensive resources in the service trades, enabling us to further our expansion.”

The acquisition of the mosquito, tick and flea control brand is Dwyer’s first since it was itself acquired by private equity firm Harvest Partners in June. Dwyer holds 21 brands and supports their franchises through a common brand called Neighborly in the United States and Canada.

“Mosquito Joe is a market leader in this space, and we look forward to continuing to support its growth,” said Mike Bidwell, president and chief executive officer of Dwyer Group.
