The Greene Turtle Hires Geo Concepcion as New CEO

The Greene Turtle, a Maryland-based franchisor of a chain of 44 sports bar and grill restaurants, announced on Tuesday that it has hired Geovannie “Geo” Concepcion as its new president and CEO. Concepcion takes over from CEO Bob Barry, who after 12 years as CEO, is stepping down.
Concepcion is the former COO of Famous Dave’s, a Minnesota-based franchisor of barbecue restaurants.
In addition to being chief officer, Concepcion will also have a seat on The Greene Turtle’s board of directors.
“This is a brand that has enjoyed widespread recognition and allegiance across generations of families, friends and sports fans for more than 40 years,” stated the new CEO about the chain that was founded in 1976. “We have a great foundation to build on, and I’m eager to work with our staff and franchisees to strengthen operations, increase our appeal, expand our footprint and improve our bottom line.”
Franchisees in the chain have remained publicly quiet about the change in leadership and what it means for them.
